Entry Deadline Looming!

SlowExposures 2012 –

Tenth Anniversary Annual Juried Exhibition Celebrating Photography of the Rural South.

All are invited to submit photographs for the Tenth Anniversary SlowExposures Photography Exhibition in Pike County, Georgia (one hour South of Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson airport). Successful images should capture those qualities that call to mind the rural American South with its unique sense of place, diversity, contradictions and complexity.

The 2012 jurors are Brett Abbott, Photography Curator of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta and Julian Cox, Founding Curator of Photography of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. They will select up to 90 images in a blind jury process. You may enter up to six (6) images online. All work must be original to the artist and have been photographed within the past four (4) years. An entry fee of $50 must accompany online entry and may be paid through credit card or PayPal. The entry deadline is midnight June 15th and the show will be open from September 21 – 30. 2012 Porfolio Review Info!

Portfolio Review
A space for 25 photographers in our 3rd Portfolio Review is open on a first come first serve basis.  Each photographer will have an unparalleled opportunity to have his/her work seen by four of the panel’s reviewers in 25 minute sessions.  The price is $300 and also includes lunch with the reviewers and other participants, Reception and Opening of Ten Year Retrospective Show at Whiskey Bonding Barn, 9263 Old Zebulon Road, Molena, GA (Sept. 21st, 5 pm), and Soiree at the Split Oak Farm, Zebulon , GA (Sept. 21st, 7 pm).
Our reviewers come from all walks of photography life including artists, educators, gallery directors, collectors, photography editors and critics.

Portfolio Walk
All photographers participating in the Portfolio Review will have the opportunity to show their Portfolios to the public at the SlowExposures Ball on Saturday, September 22nd, at 7pm.  Each photographer will have 30 inches table space to display his/hers images.  Sale of the images will be allowed if the prices are given to the SlowExposures Sale Coordinator prior to the Ball.  SlowExposures deducts 30% commission on all sales.  Those photographers who wish to eat dinner and be seated at the Ball table will be expected to purchase a $65 Ball ticket.
