When a call for entries for a photo show goes out -- one that you are interested in -- it is a task to weed through the many photos you have in various folders on your computer and/or external hard drives. We have heard from some photographers about their tips on weeding through.
- keep a folder on your computer to stash "maybes" as you take them for future competitions and exhibits that you know and are familiar with
- create a folder for each exhibit of interest, only place photos for that show's theme in it
- if you have not entered a show before, check the website for past show photos and compare your subject matter to this, see if the show has a theme
- make prints of your selections, what can look great on a computer sometimes does not look so hot printed -- and vice versa
- enter what you love
Don't let the deadline sneak up on you -- start weeding through your photos and take advantage of the online entry process.
